IES College of Arts and Science celebrated Onam on the college premises amidst much fanfare involving staff and management. The celebrations started with setting up of an attractive floral decoration (pookalam) in the reception area that was reminiscent of the agrarian past of Kerala, a South Indian state. Impressive designs and artistic creativity were the hallmarks of the Pookalam, which turned out to be attractive and mesmerizing and took everyone into a world of festivity and fun.
The main attractions of the programme were shingarimelam, cultural programmes by students and staff, speech, group songs, and solo songs by the students of the college and the Thiruvathira Kali by staffs.Onam games were also conducted as the part of celebration. Another attraction of the day was the traditional ‘onasadya’ that comprised more than 10 dishes served on banana leaves and included varieties of vegetables, rice, and payasam.Special thanks to management for supporting the college in all means.
